Washing Machine Dispenser Drawer Symbols
Your washing machine has different compartments for different washing aids (for example detergents, washing powders, bleaches and fabric softeners). Make sure you add the correct type of detergent to the correct compartment when operating the washing machine. There are also several different types of detergent drawer, depending on your washing machine. Read on to find out which compartment to use for different types of washing aid.
Find out how to clean the detergent drawer.
Detergent drawer (Type 1)
1 Main wash compartment: Detergent for the main wash, water softener, pre-soaking agent, bleach and stain remover.
2 Softener compartment: Fabric softener (do not fill higher than the line indicated by MAX).
3 Prewash compartment: Detergent for prewash or starch.
We do not recommend using tablet or capsule type detergents in the detergent drawer. You can use tablet and capsule detergents in the drum instead.
Detergent drawer (Type II)
1 Main wash compartment: Detergent for the main wash, water softener, pre-soaking agent, bleach and stain remover.
2 Softener compartment: Fabric softener (do not fill higher than the line indicated by MAX).
3 Prewash compartment: Detergent for prewash or starch.
We do not recommend using tablet or capsule type detergents in the detergent drawer. You can use tablet and capsule detergents in the drum instead.
Auto-Dispenser (Type I)
Models with an automatic dispenser have three compartments: two compartments for auto dispensing and another part for manual input. If the Auto Detergent and Auto Softener settings are enabled, the washing machine dispenses an appropriate amount of detergent or fabric softener into the drum according to the cycle.
Please note: To use the manual dispenser, make sure the auto dispenser is switched off. Press "Dose per Wash" until the Auto dispense indicators are off.
1 Auto Softener compartment: Fabric softener only.
2 Auto Detergent compartment: Liquid detergent only.
3 Detergent compartment: If necessary, add manually as instructed by the detergent manufacturer.
The refill indicator will light up on the Auto Dispenser section when you need to refill the compartment.
1 Slide open the detergent drawer.
2 Remove the detergent and/or fabric softener compartment and top up.
3 Replace the compartment in the detergent drawer, then slide the detergent drawer back into place.
4 Press the Start/Pause (Hold to Start) button. Wait 10 seconds for the indicator to detect the replenished supply of detergent / fabric softener. The indicator will then switch off.
If the auto dispenser indicator is flashing, check that the detergent drawer is closed properly. Open the drawer and close it again. If it is still flashing, you may need to clean the detergent compartment to remove any hardened liquid detergent.
